Saturday Night...x

This would make you smile. I've found Ingham in the National History Archive, here -

http://www.british-history.ac.uk/vch/norf/vol2/pp410-412

and this line in particular caught my eye. I wonder where these chaps came from? The clue maybe in their names. :-)

"There were four professed brethren, John Ludham, sacrist; William Norwich, Robert Fryston, and John Ingham; and two who were not professed."

"Prior Catfield was still in office when the house was again visited by commission on 18 July, 1520."

...and this is just funny -

"The visitors of 1535 alleged in their secret comperta that the prior and one of the brethren were guilty of incontinence."

I should have read it all before writing the above. The names get better. Guess where this lot came from...x

Priors of Ingham
Richard Marleburgh, (fn. 13) 1360
John de Trowse, (fn. 14) 1383
John Trows, (fn. 15) 1420
Thomas Netesherd, (fn. 16) elected 1429
John Blakeney, (fn. 17) elected 1439
John Norwich, (fn. 18) elected 1447
Thomas Ranworth, (fn. 19) elected 1476
Thomas Catfield alias Godrede, (fn. 20) occurs 1492, 1526
John Saye, (fn. 21) occurs 1532, last prior
Sacrists of Ingham, John de Pevesey
John de Catefeld, (fn. 22) admitted 1387
Thomas Netesherd, (fn. 23) admitted 1426

It is now tomorrow and it is your Birthday. I'm off to bed cause I can not listen to Nelson sucking his fur out any longer, it's getting to be quite gross. :-)

Happy Birthday To You

PS - This is why it's called Chapel Bridge, I guess, d'uh...x :-)

105. THE HOSPITAL OF WYMONDHAM

Half a mile to the east of Wymondham stood Westwade chapel, originally built on a bridge. Here was a cell of Burton Lazars in Leicestershire, to which great lazar-house William de Albini, some time before 1146, gave sixscore acres of land in Wymondham parish. Thereupon the hospital of Burton Lazars built a small hospital or leper house on this site, in which was a master and two or three brethren. They sought alms of travellers who used this bridge. Also, I found this the other day. It reminds me of Alfie's knitted gay frogs Jean-Paul and Antoine, that Granny made him when he was a baby. The man is going to make it with just a blob of silver and not an emerald. I'd like to wear it all the time and a stone would get lost or broken as is the case with all my other rings.

The Rat is Off the Hook...x

The rat wasn't all to blame, after all.

I did a Google search for Giant Gerbils and the pictures that came up showed the next pet craze. Thought that extra large hamster I had as a child was big enough.

This is one of the pictures Google showed me, I do however think it's a Wombat.

A bad diagram showing the difference in size.

It's a Tuesday, so I'm off to Mr MB's. The BigToe killing laurel needs a tidy up and a feed.

Big Hugs...x

Butt Plug Man...x

Dear Elaine,

After a great deal of thought I have decided to put together a blog for you. Since Christmas I've thought of getting in touch several times when I've seen stuff I think you'd be interested in or I would have sent you before you deleted me from your address book and ate your SIM card.

Anyway, yesterday I was in The Kett and met the man who now lives in your old house. He's great, I didn't catch his name but he's the jewellery maker who rents Tim's barn. This is his website.

                                   Crowned Jewels

Don't know about you, but I've always wanted a lapis lazuli butt plug.

Nick had mentioned ages ago what they did, but for some unknown reason, I didn't take much notice. I'm going round for a proper visit next week when I am at Mr MoneyBags'. I shall report back then.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Today would have been Alex's 41st birthday. Was feeling a little morose when I woke up. I look at his photo and just think what a stupid bugger he was. Here's his photo, to remind us all of what a handsome twit he was.
It's Friday, so that means it's housework day. I took handfuls of painkillers with breakfast so I can actually move. I need to get on before they wear off. I just had to tell you about ButtPlugMan.
Big Hugs...xxx
PS - (added on the 24th February 2015) Mr ButtPlug is called James...x
